Appearance: The outer bark is brownish-gray. The sapwood is yellowish white and the heartwood yellowish green to reddish brown when dry, with an oily appearance.

Characteristics: Irregular grain. Medium texture When the twigs are broken or the new leaves are squeezed, a strong "bean" smell is perceived.

Weight: The wood is heavy (0.6-0.72).

Work properties: Easy to work, with good finish and durable. The drawback of this wood is the irregularity of the trunk.

Uses: Used ornamentally for its beautiful flowers, to make live fences in livestock areas and for the construction of huts and rustic houses, since its wood is hard and durable on the ground.
